Forca di Presta is an amazing Apennine pass that is 1,550 meters above sea level in the Sibillini Mountains. This pass borders between the two regions of Marche and Umbria. Where you can park and enjoy hiking, cycling and walking on many trails for all levels from easy to difficult. One can hike up to Mount Vettore or walk to Belvedere for incredible views. Or in late Spring and early summer there is the plain of Castelluccio, that is transformed into a colorful flowering carpet of lentil, it a humbling sight to see.

But today we decided to choose the route, to Belvedere.
The balcony with views of 360°.

This trail is for everyone, you have the option to walk, run, bike and is also suitable for people with disabilities and strollers. There are many stunning views, fauna and can spot local flowers & mushrooms.

If you can see it down there, that village is called Castelluccio. That in late spring and early summer the amazing colors of greens, purples, reds, yellows of the flowering lentils and poppies against the blue sky is a breathtaking and energetic sight to take in.

We stopped in this local shop in the village of Castelluccio.
Where the family serve their own lentil beer, cheeses and lentils that they cultivate.

Here we had local lentile beer with a ciauscolo & pecorino sandwich lightly toasted.
The perfect lunch on a cold but sunny day walking in the Sibillini Mountains.

Unfortunately & fortunately Castelluccio extensive damage from the earthquake of 2016.
But it is being rebuilt with love & care.
-Blessing all and thank you Issa
