Using the word “Arid” from our daily prompt challenge.
This is not a word I would use for the area of Le Marche, Italy. In fact here it is the opposite. The land here is fertile and feeds us with nourishment from wheat, sunflowers, corn and everyone has a vegetable garden full of tomatoes. The clay earth is moldable, enough we can make bricks to build. Le Marche is not “arid” but wet and fertile, so much so that when it rains, we have mini mudslides that cover the roads…..ugh!… Detours! …But like in life and travel hopefully a detour from un-arid ground will bring you here to Le Marche, Italy.
